What Makes You Start Blogging?

2 comments - Post a comment

I would really love it if anyone reading this can share his/her experience on what are the things that led them to start a blog.I'm sure there certainly are different reasons for each and anyone of us,and I'm also sure there must be some similarities. But one thing for sure is how blogs change the scenario of the Internet, without it Internet is such a dull place, with information and news that lack a human touch to it.But blogs added the human side to it,making it like we are interacting with real people and we sure are.Blogs are more passionate, and sometimes intimate too.It created such a wonderful feeling isn't it?

What Makes Me Start?

I actually learn about blogs just during the end of last year,I really lost track of whats happening on the net for the past 4 years because of things happening in my life. When I knew about it,I try to learn more, and found out that blog is such an interesting avenue where you can write just about anything, and its free too!Later on I found out that you can make money as well from it,how convenient I said to myself..you can write what you want, and earn cash doing it!So I continue my search and found out about Internet Marketing, making money online..just great!Just what I've been looking for.Without any hesitation,I started a blog in January..made my first posting, and then the second..after finishing the third post, going into the fourth, when I suddenly realize..its not easy!My biggest mistake..I didn't do proper homework, proper planning.I stopped everything, even delete that blog..do my research..and start again early this month, with my first blog.Yes..I admit..I started because of the MONEY reason.:-(

Do You Still Think You Can Earn With Your Blog?

I sincerely do think so..there are people who earn from their blog/blogs..people like John Chow,Darren Rowse,Yaro Starak and I think there are many others..BUT WAIT!DON"T BLOG FOR MONEY!!..those people doesn't start a blog for the monetary rewards, instead they get their monetary rewards because of their blog, and they have been doing it for the past 4 to 5 years. They got people sponsoring their blogs, advertisers lining up to advertise on their blogs and companies wanting them to make reviews about their product..and they achieve this because they have a large number of readers that they built from the day they started their blogs. That's why traffic is important..to some these are potential buyers,if you are into Internet Marketing or making money..but to some, for people like me..these are readers, readers who wants to read what you write, who will tell other readers if what you write is good, and the one who will help to build your blog! This is the reason why I blog now,and I'm loving it every bit! :-)

So What Actually Are You Saying?

This is my opinion..I think there are 3 types of people who started a blog :-

  1. A person who just want to write and share.
  2. A person who wants to write and share and making some money doing it.
  3. A person who just wants to make money.
A blog is all about content, and content are the things that you wrote on your blog..If you just want to make money, what will you write about? Will you resort to "importing articles to your blog?".That is why I wrote in my first post, write from your heart..if you wrote what you felt about something, without nothing whatsoever about money in your head while doing it,you can produce a good and quality content.I'm not saying that my post is good, but when I started in January,I have to crack my head thinking what to post, what keywords to use, because of the MONEY mindset..but now..I can write with ease, even though I never had any experience in writing, and English is not even my first language!I don't even have to write points on a piece of paper as guide, and I can finish a post in about 20 - 40 minutes.

Anything Else?

Just a few things before I leave, sharing what I think is best :-

  • Choose topics that you know and of your interest, not the interest of search engine.
  • Write about things that you love..if you love someone or something, you can't find enough words to tell about it..right?
  • Be honest..if you don't,sooner rather than later your readers will know.
  • Give something that your readers want..maybe you are writing about things that have been written, but your readers will surely want to know your view, maybe it is different, and I'm sure it is different if you write it in your own unique style.
  • Value your readers..it is your blog, but they are the one who decide whether you are a success or a failure.
What's your story?
