Optimizing Your AdSense Ads.

No Comment - Post a comment

For blogspot users like me,it is easy to add an AdSense ad to your blog.Adding an AdSense ad to your blog doesn't mean you can automatically generate income from it.People will have to click on your ads for you to earn something. There's lots of talk going on debating about AdSense, some says its good, some doesn't think so.Some claims they don't get anything from it,some says they make thousands from it and sell books about their secrets. Some don't use AdSense at all, some use other alternative to AdSense.

I look at it simply like this. There are thousand advertisers who pays Google to have their ad on the web,Google provide a simple and free way to have your own blog,so why not help the advertisers by providing certain space on your blog to show their ad.Google gets lot of money through advertising, and in turn they use it to provide some of the best services on the Internet, the advertisers get to run their ads,and gain something from it,Me..I get some pocket money by providing space on my blog to run this ad.I think it is a fair deal, and the ad is consistent with my blog.

Optimizing Your AdSense.

There are 4 things that actually determine what you will get from your AdSense ads.
  1. Ad Format - The best thing to do is to use Blend Template,so that the ads blend together with the rest of the stuff on your blog.It is not to mislead your readers into thinking it is a part of your content, but to not make it look as an ad.Most people are turn off by the sight of an ad,so blending it nicely will actually have a good impact on your blog.Even if they don't click the ads,it won't turn them away from your blog.
  2. Ad Placement - Some people say put an ad in your content section.I don't totally agree. The ad placement that I think suitable is one on top just below your header, one on your sidebar, and one right down below your page.Actually the best way is to keep on experimenting this ad placement to suit your blog,no one blog is the same,so the results will vary, but those three places is the one that is also recommended by Google.
  3. Content - The title and content of your blogs must be relevant to your blog to get ads that is consistent with your blog.Because Google search on your title and blog content to determine which ad will be assigned to it.My content normally touch about blogs,so my ads have been consistently ads about blogs.
  4. Keywords - Some people do keyword research to find which have the high paying ads, some ads have a payout of up to $75 per clicks! You can do this by checking out Google AdWords, because ads on your AdSense ads are those done by advertiser bidding in AdWords.People do keywords search for 2 reasons, getting higher Page Rank and High Paying Ads by using those keywords on their blogs. But don't litter your blog with keywords that have little or no meaning or relevant to your blog just to gain this.It will turn your readers away.
But the most important thing is to get traffic to your blog, because this will increase the chances of your ads being click, but Google have very strict rules regarding clicks,so careful where your traffic is coming from so you won't get banned because of the wrong people who click your ads.Always write good, quality content relevant to your blog, because this will ensure you get ads relevant to your blog, and some of this ad may be of value to your readers.

One thing you will notice kind of inconsistent to my post is the ad right after my posting.I actually run three ads as permitted, and place it like I mention,on top, sidebar and at the bottom and it all blend with my blog.I certainly don't know how this ad gets there, been trying to delete it but still no success.Hope you don't mind it being there even though it stuck out quite oddly!Sorry For The Inconvenience.

Why I Subscribe To RSS Feeds?

I hope you all like my posting yesterday about RSS Awareness Day.I know, some of you might think that it is just a way to promote a blog..in some way I do agree, but its up to you how to promote your blog. Some do contest, with prizes, some do polls.Daniel at Daily Blogging Tips initiate RSS Awareness day,to create awareness on the benefits of RSS and I support his cause because most of us still doesn't subscribe to RSS feeds,or didn't make it available to our readers although it brings great benefits.Maybe he will gain a few extra new readers doing this, but that is because of his brilliant idea to create it.

The first real blog that I've read is Problogger by Darren Rowse, and I found it while searching on how to make money blogging. From his blog I learn about RSS and I immediately subscribe to it because of all the information available from his blog about blogging. So,instead of looking for ways to create an income by blogging,I turn myself into a blogger who wanted to have a great blog,a blog which can be helpful to other bloggers or readers,a blog which in some way can bring value or meaning to other bloggers or readers.I enjoy reading Problogger because there are times where certain people guest blog on it,and I personally like stuff written by Gala Darling and Skellie.

What Is The Benefit Of RSS?

To me there are two ways it can be beneficial :-

  • Your reader can easily read your latest posting without having to visit your blog every now and then. That means people who really enjoy your writing, can subscribe to it,so they can enjoy it everyday,or every two days depending on how often you post to your blog. They will always look forward to your latest post because it will be sent to them, like receiving e mails.
  • You can subscribe to blogs or websites that you enjoy the content without the hassle of going through each and everyone of it.It makes your life so much easier and you can spend the time looking up every blogs or websites doing other things like building your traffic, increasing your page rank, looking for new blogs or looking for stuff to write on your latest post.
My Personal Opinion.

As I've already told you,I subscribe to Problogger, and of course Daily Blogging Tips, that's how I know about RSS Awareness Day,and Remarkablogger..all this blogs is for my latest info on blogging and there are lots of it.Problogger is more on building a good content, making your blog better,Daily Blogging Tips is my resource because it has list of Blog Directories and other resources that is vital to blogging, especially for me since I am in the proses of building my blog and Remarkablogger, well, since he is a Blog Consultant, tips on how to maximize your blog.

I read their posting to get an idea for my own stuff.Don't copy the whole of other people content! There are certain people who do this,it is wrong and not ethical. If you want to take some part of it,mention where it is originally from.I do take some pointers from all these blog, but I present it in my own way, with my own perspective.

I do subscribe to another blog,Mashable..it is more about things happening on the Net,and it is good because it keeps you updated on the latest news.

I like to subscribe to more blogs,if I find it interesting and worth reading, and most importantly,it adds value and provide valuable info, not only about blogging, but other things that I'm interested in.To me by subscribing to these other blogs,it gave me a lot of resources to work on my own blog, and it is a great thing.
